Wings era el grupo que Paul McCartney se hizo tras separarse The Beatles, y esta canción fue el único número 1 británico que tuvieron, durante nueve semanas. Batió todos los récords de ventas, siendo el primer single en superar los dos millones de copias vendidas, y la marca, incluso hoy, sólo la han batido singles benéficos como 'Do they know it's Christmas?' en 1984.
